Help Wanted

Hello my fellow brothers!

As you may or may not know, I've been VERY busy lately.  It has been over a year since I've released an update to my LRO program.  I can assure you that I am not abandoning LRO and still plan on making an update.  But for now, my attention is focused on something else...something far more important.  As you can see on the right...the countdown...I'm getting married soon!!!  :-D

Not to mention that I've been working on furnishing a house (first-time home owner here).  Gave my 2nd public talk a few weeks ago.  Working on another talk for the future.  And trying to keep up with 3 Bible studies.  So you see, I have a very good reason for being so busy.

And that's why I'm reaching out to all of you for some help!  I have a brother who is wanting to translate LRO into French.  I think that's a very good project to take on, and I would like to be able to see this accomplished soon.  He has already sent in some work, which needs to be proofread.  But...once again...my time is very limited right now.  So...I need help...


I will need one or more volunteers to PROOFREAD the translation work. These volunteers will receive the translated text, and then they will take the text and run it through Google's translation system to ensure that it is the correct translation and makes sense. It will also help to catch spelling issues.

Additionally, the translator may have questions about certain words or phrases.  You will help to answer these questions.

In order to be a proofreader, you must meet the following requirements:

- Must have Microsoft Excel (or be capable of editing spreadsheets)
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must appreciate accuracy AND consistency
- Must have good organizational skills

If you meet these requirements and are interested, please contact me using the link at the top (or the one on the navigation menu to the right). This is a good bit of work. But the more helpers I can get, the lighter the load for everyone.  Don't worry...I will make sure you understand how to do the work, and are doing it correctly.  ;-)

A new literature update is available to LRO.  The following is included in this update:

• 4413 - 2013 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses--On Compact Disc

If either of these items are available in Russian or Spanish, please let me know and I will make another update with them.

New Items and offers for the month

Hey all!

The 2013 annual items are now available for LRO in the latest literature update.  This applies to all languages (English, Spanish, and Russian).

Also, the Vocal Disc 5 CD is now available in the latest update for English users only.

And finally, the literature offers for the months of November and December is ready for download.

New ASL Items and spelling fixes

I just put out an update that will add 14 American Sign Language (ASL) items, and fix the spelling for 8 of them.  The additions are as follows:

• 1562ASL - First John-Jude--On DVD

• 1558ASL - Hebrews-Second Peter--On DVD
• 1567ASL - New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures--On DVD - Complete Set
• 9271ASL - 'Go, Make Disciples, Baptizing Them'--On DVD
• 9262ASL - 'Keep Yourselves in God's Love'--On DVD
• 9234ASL - Learn From the Great Teacher--On DVD
• 9266ASL - Sing to Jehovah--On DVD, Disc 1

The spelling fixes are for The Watchtower on DVD, for the years 2002-2009.  They have been adjusted to match the jw.org website, which is like "The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom--On DVD (####)" with "####" being the year.

One final note.  I had a problem with LRO not updating the literature properly.  Items with item numbers that were alphanumeric were not getting updated.  This has been fixed.  I don't know how long this has been happening, but some of you may get more items updated than you expect.  So if you get more than 14 added & 8 spelling fixes, that is perfectly normal.  Also, non-English users might get some item updates that were not working due to this bug.  The bug was in my update file, not LRO.  So there is no need to re-download or re-install LRO.

New Offers and literature updates

I've put out the following literature changes for English users:

• 9210 - Added symbol "dvbbl"
• 5335 - Added symbol "lv"
• 5335 - Added quotes around item name, so it matches the jw.org site.
• 4035 - Added quotes around item name, and added "--On Compact Disc" to the end so it matches the jw.org site.

 Also, the latest literature offers are available for download, up to October 2012.

I know in a recent post I made mention of a possible program update around this time.  Well unfortunately I haven't gotten to work on LRO at all.  I ended up taking on another programming project to help out a friend and make a little money.  ;-)  Now that that's out of the way, I can look at working on LRO again.  But still, I can't promise anything at this time.  Though feel free to continue submitting any bug finds or feature requests.  I'm making note of 'em!

More literature updates and new S-28 form

Howdy all!

I've put out the following literature changes for English users:

• 7301 - Renamed from "Handbill (Blank)" to "Handbill for Congregation Meetings"
• 5416 - Added single quotes to "Bearing Thorough Witness", so it matches the jw.org site.

Also, for English users, there is a new S-28 form available for download.
